Targe audience research
Before creating my movie trailer I have done some target research which allows me to understand my target audience preferences. This will then help me to create an idea for my trailer and things that I should and should not include. I have conducted a film questionnaire to help me create my trailer.

From this questionnaire I can draw a few conclusions. The first being that to any gender a soundtrack in a trailer is definetely important. Another conclusion I can draw from this questionnaire is that my target audience, of older teens-young adults of both genders, like the use of enigma codes. Therefore I will try to include this into my trailer. I can also see that fast pace trailers are popular amongst the group. In terms of sub genre I have created a small tally chart to show what genre was ranked the most 'favourite'. From this table I can conclude that the most
favoured sub-genre is either psychological or conspiracy. I will bare this in mind when planning my trailer and narrative. Another helpful thing I have gained from this questionnaire is that voice overs are deemed as useful but not particularly favoured. With this in mind I will either try to use more captions or explain the narrative more through the camera shots I use rather than include a voice over. However if I find this difficult then I may use a voice over in terms of a news report rather than a cheesy explanitory voice-over. I feel that doing this target audience research my knowledge and understanding of what is wanted in terms of a trailer from my traget audience is much stronger.
Analysing pupils work
I have also looked at past work from pupils. I analysed the connection between thier posters trailers and magazine covers and gave it a predicted grades. I find this textual analysis was the best way to understand creating my own teaser as this work had all the key mistakes when making your very own teaser with no budget. I feel this helped me massively and i know now what i need to be careful off. It also helped me to understand the most suitable narratives to my target age group.

Visual profile
My boyfriend helped me to create a visual profile of his likes and dislikes. From this I am able to conclude what the most appropriate type of trailer ot create for my target audience.
