Initial Ideas

 Before filming our thriller trailer I've done some research into the genre and looked at multiple trailers. From this I have come up with a few ideas for my teaser trailer.

Idea 1: Claire Misselbrook

Thriller sub genre: Natural disaster and psychological thriller

Intended target audience: Older teens to young adults

Setting:Kitchen, forest and normal streets

Idea: The idea of the film 'The Calamity' is that a natural disaster of

          some form occurs leaving people isolated and deserted. (This

          being the disaster) The psychological area comes from the     

          main character who shows mannerisms of mentality issues,   

          she is a survivor who has been left all alone. The trailer shows

          shots of the disaster, the women experiencing it and also the   

          women cooking for he companion we can see seated at the ta-

          ble. Only at the end do we find out that the friend is dead.      

          The plot shows that the disaster has lead to the women losing

          her mind and create an enigma code of how he died.

Idea 2: Jennifer Iheanacho

Setting:

Idea: A teenager from a small town becomes one of the world’s most sophisticated killers.Technology genius Matthew, a 19 year old outcast, attending sixth form college tries to reap revenge for his life of bullying and torture by setting up an online video phenomenon.  Whilst watching the video you become brainwashed and before you know it you’re out to murder your friends and family. Everywhere you go you can hear Matthews’ voice instructing you on what to do.  But what happens when the video becomes viral and is set to 500 or 600 of your classmates via Facebook? College will never be the same again. It becomes a race to kill your closest friend before they kill you.  The video will change your life, literally. But can anybody stop Matthew?"

 Fnal idea:
To help us decide on a final idea we showed a short storyboard to an As media studies class. Feedback for both ideas were positive however idea 1 was chosen by more pupils as the most intriguing. From this we planned idea 1 in more detail and presented this to our teacher. She liked the idea and so we have chosen to stick with Idea 1.
